Local Policy Review

Write for us

Local Policy Review welcomes pitches that help general readers understand a distinct part of local policy or public-service decision-making. Proposals are sent through the Contact page.

What to pitch

We are interested in clear explainers about institutional roles, policy design, service choices, public participation and the language used in local decisions. A strong pitch identifies one reader question, sets out the central explanation and shows why the subject can stand alone rather than repeat existing coverage.

What makes a good proposal

Tell us the proposed angle, the main points you would cover, the kind of sources or public material the piece would draw on, and any limits or uncertainties readers should understand. Prefer useful context and careful distinctions over jargon, advocacy or unsupported claims. Do not include confidential information or claim access you cannot substantiate.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include a short summary and relevant writing experience if you wish. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a response before sending a full draft.
