Editorial policy
Local Policy Review aims to make local policy processes intelligible without overstating what is known. Our editorial choices favour clear explanations, careful distinctions and transparent handling of uncertainty.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against appropriate source material available for the subject, explain important context and separate description from interpretation. We do not present general explanations as a substitute for checking the documents or procedures that apply in a particular place. If evidence is incomplete or a point remains uncertain, we say so rather than imply certainty.
Independence and labelling
Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not as an endorsement of a party, public body, service or commercial interest. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled as such and kept distinguishable from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
Readers can report a suspected error through the Contact page. We review specific, verifiable concerns and correct material when warranted, making the change clear where the nature of the correction calls for it. We do not promise a particular outcome before checking the issue.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Illustrations are not evidence for a factual claim, and we do not use them to imply that a depicted scene documents a real local event.
